"Data Upload Required" message on the DM300C-DM475

Learn how to resolve a "Data Upload Required" message on the DM300C, DM400C, DM450C, or DM475.

Before you begin

Make sure that your system connects to the Pitney Bowes Data Center using SmartLink, PC Meter Connect, a USB Ethernet Connectivity Kit, or a WiFi Connection Device.

Solution 1: Connect and download available updates

  1. Select Connect now. (If your meter does not display Connect now, skip to Solution 2)
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Select Download Now, if prompted, to install available updates for your meter.
  4. Select Return Home to return to your Home screen after your updates install.
If the "Data Upload Required" message still appears, try Solution 2. 

Solution 2: Check your balance and download available updates

  1. If the Data Upload Required message appears and Connect now options do not display on your screen:
    1. Press Refill Postage.
    2. Select Check PBP Balance. (Your meter connects to the Pitney Bowes Data Center and displays your available balance.)
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Select Download Now if prompted to install available updates for your meter.
  4. Select Return Home to return to your Home screen after your updates install.
