How to qualify Carrier Routes for Basic, High Density, or High Density Plus using the ADDNAM parameter in MailStream Plus

Product affected: MailStream Plus™ 8.3.7 and newer. All platforms
Note: The three type of Carrier Route mailings discussed do not apply to all classes and types of mailings.  Please refer to the USPS Domestic Mail Manual for current regulations.

Prior to MailStream Plus™ (MSP) version 8.3.7, the ADDNAM parameter could only add enough records to qualify a Carrier Route to the Basic level for the class of mail.  For example, to meet the 10 piece minimum for USPS Marketing Mail, or 6 piece minimum for Periodicals.

Beginning in MailStream Plus version 8.3.7, ADDNAM can be also be used used to add records (up to a max of 25 per Carrier Route) to Qualify for "“High Density" and "“High Density Plus" as well.

Please refer to the MSP Guide for ADDNAM parameter settings.
