How to understand Designation Period logic within Confirm

UPDATED: August 16, 2017

In Confirm Designation Codes (see Main -> Site Register -> Site Lookups -> Gazetteer Lookups -> Designation) may have Special Designation Codes (referred to on-screen as STREET_SPECIAL_DESIG_CODE) which tie them to a particular Designation Period.

Confirm enforces the following logic:

IF STREET_SPECIAL_DESIG_CODE = 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 20, 22 or 28 THEN SPECIAL_DESIG_PERIODICITY_CODE = 1

SPECIAL_DESIG_PERIODICITY_CODE can be seen as the DTLR Ref. in the Designation Period screen.

The net effect of this is that if you try adding one of the Special Designations above to a Site, the period will default to 'Everyday' and can't be changed:

Locked-in Site Designation Period

This is enforced by design to avoid any DTLR compatibility issues.
