How to improve performance in Vault using deltabitsize parameter.

UPDATED: August 3, 2017

The deltabitsize parameter can be adjusted to increase performance at the expense of the compressed size. However this is dependent on the print stream contents.

The performance change has to do with the way Vault version 7.0 and above handles the compressed blocks.

Before Vault version 7.0, the block size defaults to 1MB and the compressed block is written when the uncompressed input data reaches half the size (512K).

From Vault version 7.0, the target block size defaults to 2MB and the compressed block is written when the uncompressed input data reaches the size (2MB).

This means that the effective input block size from Vault version 7.0 onward is approximately 4 times larger than the block size before Vault version 7.0.
