Learning how List Conversion and List Conversion Plus determine a record to be for a company or for a person using company/business/corporate indicator words. And can modifications be made?

List Conversion and List Conversion Plus, all platforms all versions

List Conversion and List Conversion Plus are applications that can perform actions on Name-Address data records.  Some of the actions taken can be based on whether the input data record is for a Person, or for a Company.
*One* of the ways that the application can be set to determine whether a record is for a Person or Company is to look for whether certain words indicating a company are in the name field(s).  Each application contains a table of about 3,000-3,500 such words like ABOUT, DENTISTRY, PLATFORMS, etc.)

List Conversion (LC) is for the mainframe z/OS and VSE platforms.
On z/OS there is a table called CORPTBL.  Depending on which release of LC is being used, the table can either be located in the MW210TC file, or in the IFSN file.

List Conversion Plus is for 'Open Systems' platforms (Windows, UNIX/Linux, IBMi)
-On Windows the DD for the file location is defined by 'DD_CPFFFIL".  It is set in the setup.bat file in the bin folder.  The default location is %G1LCP%\Tables\CPPFFIL.STD
-On UNIX/Linux the DD for the file location is defined by 'DD_CPFFFIL". It is set in the 'setup' script in the bin folder.  The default location is "$G1LCP/tables/std.cppffil"
-On IBMi, the folder/file.member is located here- G1@@PGMS/@@TABLES/CRPPRFFILE  (The Global folder may be called something other than 'G1'@@PGMS, depending on where it was installed on the user's IBMi.)

All platforms have methods of making changes to the list or adding a modification table of values.  For information please refer to the Reference Guide or User's Guide for the application for your platform.
