How to change the Tax rate in Confirm

UPDATED: April 18, 2017

How to change the Tax rate in Confirm

1.  Open Maintenance Management | Contract Management Lookups | Tax Type
2.  Filter for the current lookups and select the VAT record (this may not exist which means that they are not using VAT at the moment so don't need to change anything)
3.  If VAT is in the library, edit the End Date of the 17.50% Tax Rate to 30/11/2008.
4.  Click the 'New' button
5.  Enter the new Tax Rate Percentage (15.0%)
6.  Enter the Dates that the new Tax rate runs from and to (01/12/2008 - 01/01/2010)
7.  Add any other changes to the tax rate.

Note:  The Tax Type lookup must have contiguous dates which cover 01/01/1900 to 01/01/3000 (shown in the following screenshot).  If you do not have this set correctly, you will not be able to save the changes.

Some customers may ask if they need to update any of their data.  To answer this, Confirm calculates Tax using these lookups when a Payment Job (for example) is opened on screen, the values are NOT stored in the database so there is no need for any updates to be done.  Confirm will simply use the different rate depending on the dates involved.
