How to reinstate an instance of EngageOne Vault without a .JRN File

UPDATED: November 13, 2017

Ordinarily, you need a drd, drp and jrn file to perform a Reinstate in Vault.  This shows how to do it without a .jrn file.

There are methods that allow you to build the document data file other than the journal methods.

For example, the generic TLE method scans the AFP for specified TLE structured fields and extracts metadata from them.

In this case it looks like they are using journal based methods so there should be a journal somewhere though they may not have sent it.

However, the indexing process does not use the journal. So you could create a placeholder journal with the same base name just to get the .reinstate to work.
