How to create and deploy an EToN Web Service for Confirm

How to create and deploy an Electronic Transfer of Notices (EToN) Web Service for Confirm®:

1.       Beneath c:\inetpub\wwwroot create EToN Webservice folders, one for the Authority and one for the Utility.
2.       Go to Run > inetmgr to open IIS.
3.       In IIS navigate to (ServerName) > Websites > Default Website.
4.       Right-click the default website then choose New > Virtual Directory.

Now follow the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard:

5.       Provide an ‘Alias’ of your chosing for “EToNWebService_Authority” 
6.       Supply the path of the Authority directory from step 1 e.g: 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\EToNWebService_Authority'.
7.       Select all the check boxes to give all the access permissions.

The Virtual Directory will be created.

Web Configuration File

8.       Go to the folder C:\Inetpub\wwwroot then open the folder EToNWebService_Authority. Edit the Web XML Configuration File with Notepad++.
9.       Make the following changes in the Web XML Configuration File:

name="SqlConnectionString" connectionString="data source=LiWinXP3;Integrated Security=false;Initial Catalog=EToNAuthority;password=<confirm schema user password>;User ID=<confirm schema>;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"
add key="DatabaseInstance" value="SqlConnectionString"

then save.

EToN.asmx File

10.       Right-click on the EToN.asmx file then choose Browse. If it does not open in the browser right-click on the new Virtual Directory then choose Properties.
11.       Go to the ASP.NET tab; here select your ASP.NET version in the first drop-down box.
12.       Refresh the default website.
13.       Go to Run > iisreset  to start and stop IIS.
14.       Again right-click on the EToN.asmx file then choose Browse.. It will show the URL.

NOTE : Repeat the same steps for the “Utility” web service and deploy it in IIS in the same way. A document, including screenshots, are attached with this article as an example.
