How to control the Sequence Number on Manifest Reports in MailStream Plus

Product affected: MailStream Plus™, all versions, all platforms
If you are using the MailStream Plus™ REPORT MANIFEST parameter to generate paper Manifest Reports to submit to the USPS with your mailing, the USPS may require all pages to have the same Sequence number.
To control the number use an RP INF, EP INF, or BAT INF parameter with a MSSEQ# subkeyword.  You can have up to 10 characters in your number.
Using an RP INF, the parameter would look like the below.  The Sequence number begins in position 35, and if desired can go to position 44.

RP INF                     MSSEQ# 1234554321

Note: The USPS has rules about the numbering, detailed in their "Publication 401 Guide to the Manifest Mailing System".
As of the January 2014 version of Pub 401, these are some of what is specified about the numbering:
1) This is a mailer-selected number shown on each MMS document to relate it to a specific manifest mailing. The following are the format requirements:
  (a) Numbers must be consecutive by manifest type.
  (b) For mailers with multiple mailing sites, numbers must be consecutive by mailing site and manifest type.
  (c) Numbers must not repeat within a 12-month period.
2) Gaps in consecutive numbers must be explained when requested by the administering Post Office.
3) Show this number on summaries, postage statement(s), PS Form(s) 8125 for plant-verified drop shipment (PVDS) mailings, and on PS Form 3877 when extra services are used for pieces reported on the manifest.

All MailStream Plus (MSP) parameters and their usage are discussed MailStream Plus Guide for the version being used.
