Walk Sequence order of the input file to get the basic carrier route rate using MailStream Plus

Product Affected:  MailStream Plus™
Does your MailStream Plus™ input file have to be in Walk Sequence order to get the basic Carrier Route (crrt) rate in a Periodical Flats mailing?

No, your input file can be in Walk Sequence order or Line of Travel order to qualify pieces for the basic crrt rate.

On the ALG CR parameter, position 12, you will place an L or W:
  • Define the Carrier Walk sequence of the input file
  • W File is in Carrier Walk sequence.
  • L File is in Line of Travel (LOT) sequence.

Position 16, you will place a Y

  • Should MailStream Plus run regular carrier presort
  • Y Run this presort

Please review the ALG CR parameter in the MailStream Plus Reference guide.
It is also recommended to review the ZIP IN parameter, position 46 and use the X to have MailStream Plus sort the file in Walk Sequence order or Line of Travel order (if the Walk Sequence or Line-of-Travel information is in the Name-Address records.)
