How to perform rate updates on the DM100i, DM125, DM200L and DM225

Note: Some screens shown in the video may vary depending on the software version your meter is running.

  • If the update is performed in advance of the effective date, your meter will automatically switch to the new rates on the effective date
  • This update can take up to 10 minutes to complete. During peak periods, heavy network traffic may require several connection attempts.
TIP: Use your smartphone or tablet to follow the steps while in front of your meter. Visit, select Update Your Product, select Meters, and select your meter. You can also send the address of this page to your smartphone email account, then click on the link.

USPS Rate Update Instructions:
Connect your meter as you would when refilling postage. Do not unplug your meter at any time during this process.
  1. Starting at the Home screen, press Options.
  2. Press Page Down twice.
  3. Select Connect-Data Center.
  4. Select Uploads & Downloads. A series of communications messages will appear on the screen.
  5. When the screen displays Update Available or Update Required, select Get Update Now.
Warning: Do not unplug your power cord or remove the network cords from the meter while it is updating. This may cause damage to the meter. However, if the meter has been unresponsive for more than 15 minutes, disconnect the power cord; wait one minute, plug it back in, and restart the update process.
  1. When the screen displays New Rates Downloaded Install Successful, select Continue.
Note: If Print Report (Yes/No) is displayed, select No.
  1. When the screen displays New Rates Active, press Page Down or Enter, then select Don't show again.
  2. Select Continue to return to the Home screen.
  3. Verify the update was installed successfully by using the Confirm Update tool - click the blue button:

Once you update your meter, you are done. Note: If the meter is updated before the effective date, it will automatically switch to the new rates ON the effective date.
