Installing PC Meter Connect on your PC

PC Meter Connect™ (PCMC) is a desktop application that helps you connect and manage your Pitney Bowes mailing system on a Windows computer. For more information, see About the PC Meter Connect Desktop Application.

Prepare before you start:
  • Review the minimum system requirements.
  • Have your meter's model number and serial number ready. These can be found on the back of the meter.
  • Sign in to your computer with administrator privileges that enable you to install software.
  • Place your computer near the meter so that the USB cable can connect to both your computer and the meter.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of your meter.
  • Remove the USB cable from the back of your meter.

If PC Meter Connect is currently installed and running, you will need to close it before installing a new version. To close PCMC:
  1. Right-click on the PCMC icon in the Windows system tray (the small icons near the clock). You may need to click on the Show hidden icons arrow to see the PC Meter Connect icon.
  2. From the menu, select Exit.
  3. On the screen that asks Are you sure you want to exit?, select Yes.
  4. If the program does not close, open the Windows Task Manager (right-click on the Windows taskbar and select Task Manager).
  5. Select the Processes tab.
  6. Select PC Meter Connect and select End Process.

Download and install PC Meter Connect:
  1. Download the latest PC Meter Connect setup file.
  2. Go to your Downloads folder and double-click on the setup.exe file to start the installation.
  3. Follow the prompt instructions as you move through the installation screens.
  4. Ensure that your postage account is funded to begin using PC Meter Connect.
