How to install PC Meter Connect

Before downloading PC Meter Connect™ (PCMC), review the PCMC minimum system requirements and Network Guide.

Prepare before you start:
  • Have your meter's model and serial number on hand.
  • Sign in to the computer that is connected to your meter with Administrator privileges.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the meter.
  • Remove the USB cable from the back of the meter.
To download and install PC Meter Connect:
  1. Download the latest PC Meter Connect.exe file.
  2. Go to your Downloads folder and double-click on the .exe file to start the installation.
  3. Follow the instructions as you are prompted through the screens.
  4. Once installation is successful, reconnect your meter's power cord and USB cable to your computer.
  5. After you have installed the desktop application and have connected your meter, keep the meter in a “ready-to-connect” state. This is not required for printing postage, but it is recommended for optimal operation.
If either PCMC or the mailstation assistant application is currently running, you will need to close the application before installing the new version. To close PCMC:
  1. Right-click on the PCMC or mailstation assistant icon in the Windows system tray (the small icons near the clock).
  2. From the menu, select Exit.
  3. On the screen that asks Are you sure you want to exit?, select Yes.
  4. If the program still does not close, open the Windows Task Manager (right-click on the Windows taskbar and select Start Task Manager).
  5. Select the Processes tab.
  6. Select PC Meter Connect or mailstation assistant and select End Process.
