How to get STE/APT data returned when output address length is too small in CODE-1 Plus

Products Affected:  CODE-1 Plus
If you do not specify a large enough output length for your standardized addresses, you might find that secondary data such as APT/STE is being dropped from your standardized address.  For example, let's say you specify a length of 25 for your standardized address with apartment in position 16-17 of SA OUT, and you pass the following address:

Primary Addr: 4800 CAPITAL BLVD SE STE D
      City, ST: TUMWATER WA
      ZIP Code:            Urb Name:
   USPS County: THURSTON
Matched Addr: 4800 CAPITOL BLVD SE STE D
City,State ZIP: TUMWATER WA  98501-4464

The output address is 26 bytes.  If you only specify an output length of 25 bytes, CODE-1 Plus will drop the STE information.

In order to resolve this issue, you can choose to store address WITHOUT apartment in position 21-23 of  SA OUT and store the apartment number in a separate location using position 30-32.  This way, you will get the Ste information returned in the location specified in position 30-32.  The other option is to increase your output length for standardized address with apartment to at least 30 bytes.
