How to call Geographic Coding's GCP60 callable from a CODE-1 Plus job

Operating System: z/OS

There are two ways to call Geographic Coding from a Code-1 Plus job

For calling Geographic's callable routine, G6PC00, through the CODE-1 Plus batch driver C1BM00, it is necessary to add an EXITOP parameter and pass a "P" in position 7 and "GCP60" in position 8-17.

For interfacing with Geographic Coding or Geotax (NOT the GCPC00 callable routine) using the CODE-1 Plus batch driver, C1BM00,  the following parameters can be added to the job:

• G9 OUT—defines the output storage locations for elements returned only by the Pitney Bowes Software products Geographic Coding Plus or GeoTAX.  Tells CODE-1 Plus where on the output record to store Geographic Coding Plus or GeoTAX fields. See the GeoTAX User’s Guide or Geographic Coding Plus User’s Guide for detailed field explanations.

• G9XOUT—defines the output storage locations for more elements returned by Geographic Coding Plus and GeoTAX.  Tells CODE-1 Plus where on the output record to store additional Geographic Coding Plus or GeoTAX fields (Open Systems only). See the Geographic Coding Plus or GeoTAX User’s Guide for detailed field explanations.

• G9ZIP9—defines the location and format of the ZIP and ZIP + 4 Code for GeoTAX and Geographic Coding Plus.  Defines the input ZIP Code and ZIP+4 Codes for GeoTAX or Geographic Coding Plus.

Note:  It is required to add the Geographic Coding load library to the steplib as well as define the Geographic databases in your JCL.
