Question on Flat pieces weighing more and less than 5 ounces using MailStream Plus

Product Affected:  MailStream Plus™
When a USPS Marketing Mail Flat job has pieces that weigh under 5 ounces, and pieces that weigh over 5 ounces, the DMM says that for mailings that contain *only* pieces weighing 5 ounces or less that these bundles must have at least 15 pieces, but the DMM also says that for mailings that contain *any* pieces weighing more than 5 ounces that these bundles must have at least 10 pieces.  Does MailStream Plus™ follow these rules?

Yes, MailStream Plus will follow these rules.  If the mail pieces in the mailing are 5 ounces and under, then it will use the 15-piece minimum rule for 5-digit scheme(5DS) and 5-digit (5DG) bundles.
If the mailing contains any pieces that are over 5 ounces, then it will use the 10-piece minimum rule for 5-digit scheme(5DS) and 5-digit (5DG) bundles.
