How to create composite index in EngageOne Vault

UPDATED: September 13, 2017

Vault allows to create composite indexes.It is possible to construct an index with multiple fields in the index definition.

For example:
Index10=accdate,doc.account+"~"+doc.date,dh,Account and Date

Creation of the index entry is based on two fields with a literal ~ separator (since it is significant)

.It is also possible to extend this to more fields:
Index10=accdate,doc.account+""doc.date""+BILLVERSION,dh,Account/Date/Version

Assuming BILLVERSION is a defined custom attribute.

Important Considerations:

  • Ensure to not modify the default account and invlink indexes to use multiple fields this way. The system assumes the keys for these indexes match the account and date fields in the document record. Using multiple fields will break this contract.

  • Index entry will only be created if all referenced fields exist and are non-empty.
