Portrait Foundation - Issues opening workspace with the Configuration Suite

Sometimes it may be seen that opening a workspace in the Portrait Foundation Config Suite product causes an error in which the system complains about issues with a GUID.  The signature of this problem may include the following line within the error call stack:
System.Guid.GuidResult.SetFailure(ParseFailureKind failure, String failureMessageID, Object failureMessageFormatArgument, String failureArgumentName, Exception innerException) 
This can sometimes be a symptom of trying to use a repository that was built to target a different version of the product.  To make sure this isn't the issue, perform a 'Refresh from Repository' and then run a full deployment of the configuration assets.
