How to setup and Echo a custom symbol truetype font in the MapBasic Window inside of MapInfo Pro

Steps on how to apply a custom symbol true type font and use and echo the symbol style font in MapBasic.

In my example I will be installing: "deciBel Planner Telecom" symbol true type font.

1) Install the symbol true type font in the C:\Windows\Fonts directory. Launch MapInfo Pro and MapBasic.

Note: If MapInfo Pro and MapBasic are already running, users will not need to close and restart the application in this example.

  • In MapInfo Pro 64 Bit version, Select Home > Tool Windows > MapBasic > and click inside the MapBasic Window
  • In MapInfo Pro 32 bit version Select Options > Show MapBasic Window  > and click inside the MapBasic Window

2) Open any point table in MapInfo Professional and double click on the layer in layer control and select the Symbol Style font.
