How to create an ODBC connection to SQL server

The following instructions will be used by the client to configure an ODBC connection to a SQL server.

1. Go to Start menu in Windows.
2. Search ODBC and open Microsoft ODBC Administrator.

3. Choose Add while under User DSN Tab. 
4. Choose the SQL driver you will use (SQL Server Native Client 11.0 is recommended).

5. Give your data source a name and enter in your server name. We use 7372tpwin7 in this example.

6. Based on your setup, choose what type of authentication you will use and fill in login info.

7. Make sure default database is correct.

8. Advance to test connection and show successful connection.
