What are the benefits of the AutoInk program?
AutoInk will save you time and money. This program will help you so that you never have to worry about running out of ink again. Your meter will trigger a replacement ink order when it reaches a low ink status. You will enroll, and then select the address and payment method of your choice. Plus, you get a 20% discount off of the retail price* on each Pitney Bowes replacement cartridge shipped as a part of the AutoInk program. However, if you already have special negotiated contract prices on meter ink, enjoy the cost savings you already receive.

What are the requirements to enroll in AutoInk?
  1. A qualifying postage meter that will digitally connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud and provide benefits, including automatic postal rate and software updates, and postage funds status. The following meters are eligible at this time:
  • meters with a direct digital connection:
    • SendPro® Mailstation
    • SendPro® C / SendPro®+
    • SendPro® C Auto
  • meters that require a SmartLink™* connectivity device to connect digitally
    • mailstation2™
    • DM125™
    • DM300C™
    • DM400C™
    • DM475™
Note: SmartLink devices are available for purchase in the Pitney Bowes supplies store
  1. A Your Account online profile which will provide access to valuable information you can use to manage your relationship with Pitney Bowes. See instructions to create an online Your Account profile.

How does AutoInk work?
You need a qualifying meter connected to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud* and an active Pitney Bowes  Account profile to enroll in the AutoInk Program. These are the basic steps:
Note: If your meter does not have a direct digital connection, connect a qualifying meter via SmartLink to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud.
 
  • If your meter does not have a direct digital connection, connect a qualifying meter via SmartLink to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud.
  • Register for your Account profile which will provide valuable information about your relationship with Pitney Bowes.
  • Enroll in the AutoInk Program from Your Account home page – scroll to the Your Products section, click on your selected meter, and then on the Get Started button, located just under the ink level status indicator.
  • Select the desired ship to address and payment mechanism for each order – you can modify these selections or opt-out of the program at any time.
  • When your meter hits a low ink status, it will trigger an order for a replacement cartridge.
  • Pitney Bowes will send an email letting you know your ink is on the way to your selected address.
  • You will be billed using your selected payment choice. 
     

* The Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud is a commerce enabler that provides access to solutions, analytics and applications across the full commerce continuum to help clients identify customers, locate opportunities, enable communications, power shipping and manage payments.

What is a SmartLink connectivity device?
It is a small device that will allow you to switch your meter connection from an analog to a digital (always on) connection.

The following meters are eligible at this time to use a SmartLink device:
  • mailstation2™
  • DM125™
  • DM300C™, DM400C™,DM475™ meter

This will allow you to get rate changes real time and see postage and ink status for your meter if you have an active Account profile.

How can I get SmartLink connectivity device?
If you have a mailstation2, DM125, DM300C, DM400C or DM475 postage meter, you can connect digitally with the SmartLink device. You can purchase SmartLink in the supplies online web store.

How do I enroll in the AutoInk program?
If you have met the prerequisites for the AutoInk program (qualifying meter, SmartLink connection and active Account profile): 
  1. Sign in to the Pitney Bowes Your Account online portal.
  2. Expand the Your Products menu from the top navigation bar and select Postage Meters.
  3. Locate and click the meter that you want to enroll in AutoInk and select the Get Started button under the ink level status indicator.
  4. We will ask you to verify the address you want the ink sent to, as well as the payment method you want us to bill to when a replacement cartridge is sent to you.



Is there a cost or fee to participate in the AutoInk Program?
No.  Once you have your SmartLink connectivity device or a meter with a direct digital connection, there is no charge to participate in the AutoInk program. We will only send you ink when your meter tells us you are running low. You can modify your options or cancel at any time.

Can I change my preference or stop the AutoInk Program?
Yes, you can manage your address or payment selections as well as cancel your participation at any time with no penalty. You have complete control over where your replacement cartridges are shipping and your billing preferences. You can modify the information at any time, as well as cancel your participation.
  1. Sign in to the Pitney Bowes Your Account online portal.
  2. Expand the Your Products menu from the top navigation bar and select Postage Meters.
  3. Locate and click on the meter that you want to update your AutoInk status on
  4. select the AutoInk Settings link under the ink level status indicator
How often will I receive ink cartridges with the AutoInk Program?
You will only receive a replacement cartridge when your meter indicates that it is low on ink. That could be once a month or twice a year depending on your unique usage. The goal of the program is for you to never worry about running out of ink again. New cartridges shipping usually takes 3-5 business days for delivery.

Can I get 20% off on ink purchased outside the AutoInk program?
Today the discount is only offered for the ink purchased and sent via the low ink indicator in the program. If you purchase additional cartridges outside of the program, they will be at regular price. Watch for our web offers, as we periodically run specials. 

Can I combine the 20% AutoInk discount with other special pricing?
No, the program cannot be combined with other discounts or special contract pricing.

What if I want more than one cartridge sent for my meter via AutoInk?
Pitney Bowes AutoInk Program is designed for convenience and savings to provide just in time stocking for your ink needs. Today the program only offers a single replacement cartridge at a time.  As we expand the program, we will explore additional options for your convenience.  

What if I go through a lot of ink quickly? Is the AutoInk program still right for me?
Absolutely. The program can still save you time and money. Just order the number of cartridges you feel comfortable having on hand from the Pitney Bowes online supply store and enroll in the program. Then you will always have the spares on hand that give you peace of mind.

What price will I pay for the meter ink cartridge sent via the AutoInk Program?
The price of the cartridge will be dependent on the type of meter you have. When you enroll in the AutoInk program, you will save 20% off the retail price* of the genuine Pitney Bowes meter ink specifically designed and tested to optimize the performance of your installed meter. However, if you already have special negotiated contract prices on meter ink, enjoy the cost savings you already receive.

Which replacement meter ink cartridge will I receive through the AutoInk Program?
Once you enroll in the AutoInk Program and your meter hits a low ink status, you will be sent a genuine Pitney Bowes ink cartridge designed and tested especially for your meter. Tested in millions of cycles and optimized for performance, genuine Pitney Bowes ink provides quality postal impressions every time so your mail gets delivered and you don’t waste postal funds.

When will I get billed for the replacement ink cartridge shipped via the AutoInk Program?
When you enroll in the AutoInk Program, you will specify your preferred payment method. Pitney Bowes will bill you for the cost of the cartridge, plus shipping and handling when we ship a replacement ink.
