Using specific location parameters in URL to launch Spectrum Spatial Analyst

The objective is to display a specific location and zoom level via a specific URL when launching Spectrum Spatial Analyst. This can be achieved by adding the following parameters to the URL:
  • x, y or lon, lat (this depends on the underlying projection of the base map)
  • zoom

Example format of a standard map URL (*to be used as a guide only, not a real working map):
https://testmap.com.au/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=public%test%map

Example format of a map URL with addition of specific parameters mentioned above (using x, y coordinates) highlighted in bold:
https://testmap.com.au/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=public%test%map&x=543895&y=5753143&zoom=9

Example format of a map URL with addition of specific parameters mentioned above (using longitude, latitude coordinates) highlighted in bold:
https://testmap.com.au/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=public%test%map&lon=151.194843&lat=-33.874064
&zoom=9

In the examples above where parameters were added, this will launch Spectrum Spatial Analyst and display the map view at the exact coordinates, and an exact zoom level specified. Note that '&' is used in between each parameter.

A quick method to obtain the exact coordinates for a location on a map is to click on the location within the map view in Spectrum Spatial Analyst. This will mark the location and bring up the exact coordinates in the top left hand side panel (screenshot below illustrates this) which can then be used within the launch URL.
