Using IMBSER parameter in MailStream Plus with IMBOUT and optionally IMBINB to manually generate the IMb serial numbers.

Product Affected: MailStream Plus™
Feature: Parameters
Operating System: all platforms
MailStream Plus™ (MSP) can generate the *outbound* IMb (Intelligent Mail Barcode) serial numbers using the IMBOUT parameter with position 44 = M (manually assign serial numbers).  The IMb serial numbers will begin with the starting serial number given on the IMBSER parameter positions 18-26.  For example, if the mailing has 10,000 pieces and the IMBSER is set to start at number 1, then the mail pieces will be assigned outbound serial numbers sequentially from 1 to 10000.

If the job is also using IMBINB to have MSP manually generate the *inbound* IMb serial numbers, using the same Mailer ID, they will get numbers sequentially starting after the last Outbound Serial number, in this example they would get from 10001-20000

Note that IMBSER positions 8-16 has the Mailer ID, in case there are multiple Mailer IDs in the job then each will start with the starting serial number given for *that* Mailer ID.
