Resolve Printer driver crashes during start-up in PI Office Mail

Issue

Resolve Printer driver crashes during start-up in OFMA.

One of our users is unable to use the PIOffcemail Print driver on his workstation, every time he attempts to print using it the software will crash and refuse to load. I’ve checked his PrintDlg log and found the following error: 2017-01-12 08:18:57.715 00 PrintDlg v3.9.0.30 started 2017-01-12 08:18:57.735 07 Using PDFCreactiveX.dll v5.0.1.4 (03/04/2015) 2017-01-12 08:18:58.976 07 OnInitialUpdate called 2017-01-12 08:21:58.395 00 Exception of System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException type is thrown while OnInitialUpdate called: External component has thrown an exception.. StackTrace: at CWinApp.ProcessShellCommand(CWinApp* , CCommandLineInfo* ) at CTasksPaneApp.InitInstance(CTasksPaneApp* ) Also of note the user’s printdlg reports this on every occasion since the error occurred: 2017-01-12 08:24:57.304 00 PrintDlg v3.9.0.30 started 2017-01-12 08:24:57.324 07 Using PDFCreactiveX.dll v5.0.1.4 (03/04/2015) 2017-01-12 08:24:57.758 07 OnInitialUpdate called
Can you please advise what could be causing this error?

Cause

Missing components on user's PC.

Resolution

UPDATED: August 9, 2017
Upon further investigation we’ve found the cause of these print driver crashes is usually related to missing components (usually .NET 3.5.2 for OFMA 3.9) on a user’s workstation, and usually requires that component installed separately.
