Resolve 'ERROR 10171:insufficient disk space available to safely continue processing' encountered during ingestion in Vault

Issue

Ingestion in Vault fails with 'ERROR 10171:insufficient disk space available to safely continue processing' in Loader (e2loaderd) log.

Cause

The main load thread in Vault loader (e2loaderd) checks disk space on work/index and pagedata/docdata (if not using storage model) before most operations.
In case there is sufficient disk space not available or the remote share is inaccessible, this error may be logged in the Vault loader (e2loaderd) logs.

Resolution

UPDATED: May 11, 2017

  • If it is a actual space crunch causing the error, then appropriate action to free the disk space should be taken.
  • If EngageOne Vault Loader is running on Windows then, event viewer should show the disconnection from the drive. For Unix , path  "/var/log/messages" should contain error messages of drive disconnection. This disconnection can often lead to spurious error though free space is available on disk.
In case issue remains unresolved, contact Client Support.
