Unable to send emails after installing EngageOne Deliver

Issue

Unable to send emails after installing EngageOne Deliver. Reports showing the error as: 'Error occurred in <Outbound Profile> profile. Message not sent successfully'.

Error in Application logs:
<Date><Time>[EM] ERROR [http-/0.0.0.0:8180-1] velocity.logVelocityMessage(143) | Right side ($currentMenu) of '==' operation has null value. If a reference, it may not be in the context. Operation not possible. WEB-INF/classes/cssHorizontalMenu.vm [line 16, column 56]

Cause

One of the possible root causes could be due to 'email outbound' feature not enabled in XML license file used. 
<Feature enabled="False" id="1" name="email outbound"/>

Resolution

UPDATED: October 1, 2018
Editing 'email outbound' feature results into corruption of XML license. A new license with 'email outbound' enabled needs to be obtained from Pitney Bowes.
