Resolve 'UAC needs to be disabled' error encountered during Sagent installation even though UAC is disabled

Issue

During the install of Sagent Version 6.6 (64 Bit) on WIndows 2008 Server (64 Bit), a warning message that 'UAC needs to be disabled' is shown, even though UAC is disabled. This is just a warning and do not have any negative impact on Sagent installation hence can be ignored.

Cause

Possible rootcause are:
  • Sagent installer not launched using elevated priviliges.
  • UAC not disabled properly.
  • Machine not rebooted after disabling UAC.

Resolution

UPDATED: September 6, 2017

In order to fix this warning, try below workaround and ensure to:
  • Launch the installer using elevated priviliges (i.e "run as administrator).
  • Check the value of key 'EnableLUA' in registry settings at path 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system' is set to zero.
  • Reboot the machine after disabling UAC.
