Confirm - Confirm map edits are undone when the Referential Integrity Agent runs if sp_geography is populated

Issue

Changing the geography via the Feature screen, this does not automatically update the layer in Confirm version 14.xx.

Cause

Edits to the map on the Confirm host map are immediately undone the next time Referential Integrity (RI) Agent runs if the feature.sp_geography database column is populated.  Changing the geography via the Feature screen does not automatically update the layer.

UPDATED: March 28, 2017

To replicate follow the below steps :

1.       Need a registered map layer set against Feature Group.
2.       Load map layer into Confirm using ‘Feature Map Layer Import’.
3.       Open Feature screen and retrieve the Feature that’s on the imported map layer.
4.       (Check sp_geography was populated via SQL) – see the attached Excel spread sheet.
5.       Note Extents and Centroids.
6.       Send Feature to map for selection.
7.       Set layer to editable
8.       Move Feature location
9.       View Feature in Feature screen and note changed Extents and Centroids
10.      View Entity
11.      View Entity Modify table and you’ll see Feature listed
12.      Set RI Configuration
13.      Run RI Agent via the Scheduled Task screen
14.      Reopen map and the asset is back to its original position before edit.

This is a known issue with regards to the initial use of the Feature Map Layer Import utility.
This issue will be fixed in V15.

The issue is that use of the Feature Map Layer Import uitlity takes the map data via the importer and stores it withing the confirm database rather that the map layer. When you change the geography via the feature screen, this does not automatically update the layer, but rather the database only. When the RI Agent runs the RI agent then pulls the old data back into the layer file, thus reverting the changes.

To get round this until V15, you need to stop the RI agent, make the change to the feature and then rerun the Feature Map Layer Import utility again. then restart the RI agent.
