"Accounting Period Ended" or "Account Period Invalid" on the DM110i-DM220i with InView Accounting

Issue

The meter displays the message Transaction Log Full, Accounting Period Ended, Account Period Invalid, or Period Ended - Must clear data to continue.

Cause

Your accounting period has expired, or your transaction log is full. When the accounting period expires, mail cannot be run until the data is cleared or the accounting period is extended.

When using InView accounting, there is a limit of transactions that can be made. This is called the Transaction Log. To resolve the error you need to clear the accounting data.

IMPORTANT: Before you clear the accounting data, you should perform a data upload. Once the transaction log is cleared, the account information cannot be retrieved. Only summary information will be available on the system.

To perform a data upload:
  1. Press the Options key.
  2. Press Page Down twice.
  3. Select Advanced Features.
  4. Select InView Records.
  5. Select Upload Now.

Note: If the Transaction Log is cleared without successfully performing an upload, the data will be lost the data and cannot be retrieved.

Once the data has been uploaded, the Transaction Log can be cleared as follows:
  1. Press the Accounts key.
  2. Press Page Down and select Manage Transactions.
  3. Press Page Down and select Clear Transaction Log.
  4. Press Yes to clear the log.
To clear the accounting data:
  1. Press the Accounts key.
  2. Select Manage InView Accounts.
  3. Press Page Down and select Clear Account Data.
  4. Select Clear All Data.
  5. Press Yes to clear the data.  
  6. Press the Home key to return to the Home screen.
