"Invalid preset" on the DM300C-DM475

Issue

Your meter displays the message "Invalid preset" when you power up or when you load a preset.

Cause

This error displays when your scale takes longer to power up than the software allows.

This error occurs only if the power is reset. Your system is designed to be left on all the time (it goes to sleep when not in use).

Resolution

There are three ways to troubleshoot this issue; try them in this order:

Solution 1: Reseat your scale:
  1. Select Load Partial Preset.
  2. Remove the scale from the top of your meter.
  3. Replace the scale on top of your meter.
  4. Press Custom Preset and select the desired custom preset, or press Normal Preset.

Solution 2: Check the serial port setting:
  1. Select Load Partial Preset.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Press Page Down.
  5. Select Serial Port.
  6. Select Attached Scale.
  7. Press Custom Preset and select the desired custom preset, or press Normal Preset.

Solution 3: Reboot your meter:
  1. Remove your scale.
  2. Unplug power to your meter.
  3. Reinstall your scale.
  4. Plug your meter back in.
