Resolve issue where Spectrum failed to upgrade from 9.0 SP2 to 9.0 SP3

During an upgrade from 9.0 SP2 to 9.0 SP3 the upgrade fails with a server folder cannot be found error.

Running the installer in debug mode makes you think the upgrade has succeeded but the wrapper log indicated during the first run failed to detect the registry key for JRE / Spectrum and performs an install instead.

As the registry key cannot be found the installer thinks this is a fresh install.

The server then ends up with an empty repository and in the <spectrum_install_location>/server/app/lib folder there are a mixture of 9.2 and 9.3 .jar files.

The result is neither a fresh install nor a working upgrade.

UPDATED: October 16, 2017

If there is a 9.2  spectrum install on another machine, copy the entire SP2 install from that box to the target machine.

Set the registry key, run the installer so the installer finds the spectrum folder and upgrades.

The registry key's Name is called RootDir, type = REG_SZ and the Data is the path to the spectrum 9.2 install location.

The default location when you run the installer on a C:\> is C:\Program Files\Pitney Bowes\Spectrum.
