In Portrait Dialogue, a custom message type defined in Dialogue Admin encodes the HTML and wraps it in a new set of tags when it is edited and saved


 

Issue

If a message template uses a custom message type is opened, changed and saved

then all the HTML gets encoded and wrapped in a new set of tags.

Every time effectively doubling the content and escaping the existing HTML

This makes it impossible to use the designer.

Cause

The custom message type defined in Dialogue Admin was seen to be defined like this:

Template and document extensions in Message Type Properties in Dialogue Admin should have a template file extension of htm
Internal code both in Portrait Dialogue and Internet Explorer (which is used as the HTML editor) relies on that file extensions to handle the file correctly.
