"Connection Due" or "Connection Required by Post" message on the mailstation, DM series, and SendPro 300

The meter displays the message "Connection Due" or "Connection Required by Post" and will not run mail.


The Post Office requires the meter to periodically connect to the data server.

Follow these steps to connect the meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Center to clear the message:
  1. Connect the meter to a network line or a USB cable for PC Meter Connect or Communication Device.
Note: If the meter has not yet been connected, see the Install Guide that came with your meter for setup instructions. Copies of the Install Guides are also available on the Getting Started page for your meter model.
  1. Select Connect Now, or have the meter check the PbP balance.
Note: You do not have to add funds to your meter to clear this message.
  1. If there are any pending downloads, follow the prompts on the screen to complete them.
