MapInfo Professional: Points created using the the BNG projection shift position when Bing Maps is added to them

Issue

Points created using the the BNG projection shift position when Bing Maps is added to them

Cause

We do not allow the re-projection of Tile Server tables. Tiles come from a server as small as 256x256 JPG images and the only transformation that we allow for these tiles is stretching of them to match map zoom level.

Resolution

UPDATED: April 11, 2017

Please try the steps below as a workaround. Please be advised this may not work for you.
  1. Open up the Bing aerial layer. Zoom in to the desired area which you want to display with your data. Then go to File>>Save Window As, and save it as a PNG type file (this file type ensures relatively higher quality). Make sure you check ‘Create a Geographically Referenced Tab File’.
  2. Close ALL. Open up the data set which you’re working with in a map view.
  3. Go to Map >> Options >> Image Processing… >> choose Optimized for Reprojection
Now open up the saved Bing Aerial view.png file into the current mapper and you should end up with a Bing image which is reprojected ‘on-the-fly’ to match your data’s projection for display purposes.
Please let me know how you get on.
