Resolve "The service did not start due to a logon failure" when starting Portrait Dialogue services


When starting Portrait Dialogue services, the error "The service did not start due to a logon failure" is displayed.

Following error is recorded in the Dialog Server Error logs:

The user's Windows password has changed and it was not updated for Portrait Dialogue services.


UPDATED: September 20, 2017
Following are the steps to update the password in Windows Services:
  1. Select Windows Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
  2. Locate the following services based on the version of your Arrival software:
    • MH Dialog Manager Service
    • MH Receive Mail Service
    • MH Send Message Service
  3. Right-click on one of the services and select Properties.
  4. Select the Log On tab.
  5. Select This account.
  6. Enter the new password in both the Password and Confirm password fields.
  7. Select OK.
  8. Repeat steps 3-7 for each of the services listed in step 2.
