Resolve CODE-1 Plus callable EXTADDR2 error "CSV002I REQUESTS FOR MODULE ADDRTBLS EXCEED MAXIMUM USE COUNT"

Products Affected:  CODE-1 Plus

Issue

Calling the CODE-1 Plus EXTADDR2 (extract address) callable results in error "CSV002I REQUESTS FOR MODULE ADDRTBLS EXCEED MAXIMUM USE COUNT". Specifically:

Abend/reason code S906-08

CSV002I REQUESTS FOR MODULE ADDRTBLS EXCEED MAXIMUM USE COUNT

Cause

The error is generated if the call area EXT2-PARM is initialized after every call to EXTADDR2

Resolution

UPDATED: September 15, 2017

If the following statement appears in the calling application, it should be eliminated:

“MOVE SPACES TO EXT2-PARM”.

Call area “EXT2-PARM” should only be initialized to spaces ONCE before the first call to EXTADDR2. Initializing it to spaces every time causes a variable to be reinitialized and will cause it to load “ADDRTBLS” for each and every call.
