Issue

Whenever EngageOne Deliver reads an email from the mail server, it marks the mail as deleted. However, it is the Email Server that actually deletes the messages.  When messages do not get deleted at the Mail sever there are a few causes.

 

Cause

It is the Email Server that actually deletes the messages. Sometimes multiple clients can access the same mailbox. Once EngageOne Deliver reads an email from the mailbox, that email should not be available for Engageone Deliver anymore. However, it can still stay on the server for  other email clients like Webemail to read it. It all depends on how the client has configured the mail retention rules.

Resolution

UPDATED: May 23, 2018

Review the mail retention rules with the Mail server Administrator. For example there may be a 30 day retention rule in place.
