"Server response: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." in MapInfo Pro Map Uploader tool for Spectrum Spatial 12.2

When uploading a map from MapInfo Pro to Spectrum Spatial 12.2 using the Map Uploader tool, an error during upload occurs which states:

"There was an error while creating Named Map '[Name of your map]'

Server response: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Please consult the log file '[Path to log file]' for more information about this error."

There is a bug with Spectrum Spatial 12.2 in which maps with a labeling offset of 0, or left blank, will not be able to be uploaded or viewed. This means that maps which have been uploaded to Spectrum Spatial 12.1 or lower may not render correctly after upgrading to 12.2.

Pitney Bowes is working on a patch for this issue, but until the patch is released, there is a workaround available:

Set the Labeling Rules for the Map Layer being uploaded to an offset of anything other than 0 or blank, as seen in the screenshot below:
To access the Layer Properties dialog, right-click on the layer in Layer Control/Explorer and choose "Layer Properties..."

The default Label Offset is set to 2 points.
As long as the offset value is an integer greater than 0 (and less than 201), the map should upload and render successfully.
