How to adjust Email/Link tracking processing time in Portrait Dialogue

The SaveLogAfterXSeconds parameter in web.config governs the maximum time it takes for email or link tracking to get registered from the MHWU application receiving the request until the tracking is logged in the database. Note that this is event based; if a tracking event is not logged in the database because not enough time has elapsed since the last database update, it won't be logged in the database until a new tracking event is received by the MHWU application.

If you set SaveLogAfterXSeconds to zero, tracking will be logged to the database instantaneously. This is not recommended as it will significantly increase the load on the server.

Link tracking can be configured as described below:

Configuring link and email logging
The Web Utilities application's web.config file contains parameters for how link and email tracking is handled.
Parameter NameDescription
LogMethodSpecifies which log method to use. See table below for the different log types supported.
SaveLogAfterXSecondsSpecifies the number of seconds to wait before storing the log items to database/file. The records are saved to file/database when a log item is registered and the number of seconds since the last save has exceeded the specified value.
LogFileLocationThe location of the log file.
MaxLogFileSizeThe maximum log file size in kB. Default is no limit.
The email and link tracking support several logging methods:
MethodDescription
