How to Upgrade MapInfo Pro using MSP

To install the MapInfo Professional Maintenance Release on a machine, users must run the Maintenance Release installer MSP file.

To run the Maintenance Release installer MSP file, type:
msiexec /p <path to the MapInfoProfessionalx.x.xMaintenanceRelease.msp file>  REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=omus

x.x.x = version of the patch (e.g. 16.0.2)
p = applies the latest patch

Users may see a prompt for permission to continue. Click Allow or OK to proceed (if one do not respond and the message times-out, then the upgrade is unsuccessful).

Users can upgrade silently by adding a silent parameter switch to the command, such as /qb, /qn, /qr, or /q.
For example:
msiexec /p <path to the MapInfoProfessional16.0.2MaintenanceRelease.msp> /qb REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=omus

/qb = to see a basic progress dialog box during the installation

For an upgrade that involves an upgrade of the Flexnet License Service (e.g. Upgrade MapInfo Professional 16.0.0 or 16.0.1 to MapInfo Professional 16.0.2), additional step is required.

To upgrade the Flexnet License Service, type:
<path to>\mapinfow.exe –regserver
