Resolve "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Attempt to read unknown version of BCP format file" encountered while running create-database scripts in EngageOne Delivery Audit

Issue

create-database scripts fails with following error message:
“[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Attempt to read unknown version of BCP format file.”

Cause

This could be caused due to PATH environment variable containing path to older version of BCP.exe. BCP version referenced in PATH can be known by running
BCP /v from the command prompt.

Resolution

UPDATED: August 29, 2017


Following are the steps to modify the path settings:

  1. From the desktop, right click the Computer icon.
  2. Choose Properties from the context menu.
  3. Click the Advanced system settings link.
  4. Click Environment Variables. In the section System Variables, find the PATH environment variable and select it. Click Edit.
  5. Replace the old path reference to the BCP.exe with the latest version. Ex: 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\bin'
