Resolution

UPDATED: November 1, 2017

BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLING PD DATABASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE :
  • Created the Portrait Dialog Database and a Database User with Full access to the database.
  • You have installed the database client tools and preferable the management tools on the application server.
  • You have tested the Database connectivity between the application server and the Database Server.
  • We Recommend running the installation from the application server. If for any reason this is not possible then you can run it directly on the database server, but this will require manual creation of the Instance, and Sharing of root directory on the application server after Installing the Dialog Server.
BELOW SCREEN SHOT CAN HELP

  • Choose the database server (Server name for SQL Server or TNS alias for Oracle)
  • Enter username and password. (Windows authentication only supported on SQL Server)
  • Select name of database (Only apply to SQL Server)
  • If you cannot browse the database catalog your user credentials most likely is incorrect.

Note:
The information entered here is used as the connection settings for the Instance you define later in the setup. The instance connection string can be altered later using the Dialogue Admin tool.

Enter the Instance name for your installation. The name cannot contain any specialcharacters (like $ %) or space (blanks)

Note:
Within a Dialogue Server Host, multiple installations of the Dialogue Database might be installed.
Such an installation is called a database instance.
Even if you only have one instance you should use a short and descriptive name for your instance.
Example:
PROD (for production),
TEST (for testing)
DEV (for development)
