VERIFIED SOLUTION i

Resolve AnySite: Evaluation period will expire in "x" number of days.

Issue

When starting AnySite, a message is displayed that states the Evaluation period for AnySite will expire.

Cause

AnySite was installed with a full, permanent serial number and unlock code, but the program does not seem to be recognizing that.  AnySite seems to be running in Evaluation or "Eval" mode and will stop working at the end of the number of days being displayed in the message.

When examining the registry path to the AnySite entry, the serial number string value, "SN",  has the word EVAL listed instead of the correct AnySite serial number.
And, the Unlock Code string value, "ULC", is blank or the "ULC" values does not exist.

64-bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MapInfo\AnySite\9.1 US
32-bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MapInfo\AnySite\9.1 US

Go to start>run and type regedit to open the registry editor.

Then go to the following folder.  The version number will vary with the version installed:

64-bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\MapInfo\AnySite\9.1 US
32-bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MapInfo\AnySite\9.1 US

Then double-click on the string value on the right side of the registry labeled:  SN
Remove the word EVAL and replace with the appropriate AnySite serial number.
Example:  AAUWEU091xxxxxxx

Then double-click on the string value on the right side of the registry labeled: ULC
Enter the Unlock code that was provided with the serial number.
If there is no item labled ULC, then right-click on a blank area on the right side of the registry and select new>String Value.  Give the entry the name:  ULC and select the Enter key on the keyboard.
Then double-click on the new entry and enter the appropriate unlock code that was provided with the serial number.

Close the registry.  Then re-start AnySite.  The expiration message should no longer be displayed.

In some extreme scenarios, there is little or no information found for Anysite in the Registry.
In that event, one possible solution is to import the attached registry file from tech support's default installation
on windows 7 64-bit and then edit the serial number and ULC (unlock code) fields with the customer's values.
If the user has Anysite installed to a non-default path, then edit the appropriate path-related entries.
Detach .reg file to user's PC and double-click to import.
Then use regedit to edit the relevant fields.
