How to determine why ADDRSCAN returns two address lines by default

Mainframe - Compatibility Interface (COBOL)
Products Affected:  Finalist

Issue

Finalist previously returned one address line.  Starting with Finalist 8.2, two address lines are being returned instead of one.

Cause

Starting with Finalist 8.2, ADDRSCAN now defaults to returning two lines of output instead of one. The default ADDRSCAN option has changed from 9BN to 95N.

Resolution

UPDATED: August 22, 2017
Make certain the ADDRPASS-OPTION2 value in the ADDR021D copybook is set to 5 instead of B.  That will reflect the new ADDRSCAN default of 95N:

9 - Best street/box line from top (Returned Line 1)
5 - First valid line above city line (Returned Line 2)
N - No special request (Special Options)

Versions prior to FN 8.2 defaulted to:

9 - Best street/box line from top (Returned Line 1)
B - Blank Line (Returned Line 2)
N - No special request (Special Options)
