Resolve error loading LDAP data "GC overhead limit exceeded" and "Error #1085" in EngageOne

Issue

Error loading LDAP data - GC overhead limit exceeded, Error #1085

When starting EngageOne Administrator User gets the error message "GC overhead limit exceeded", if they then try again, they get an error message "Error #1085".

Cause

The Java heap settings are likely set too low.
 

Resolution

The Java heap settings (-xmx, -xms) should be raised.

Refer to the EngageOne Admin Guide under "Troubleshooting", "JBoss" on how to set this for JBoss, though the values given in the documentation may be too low. The attached document "EngageOneServerPerformanceWhitePaper.pdf" can be used as a guide for values more in line with real world requirements.

For example, for JBoss, the following could be added to the run.bat file:
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m

Keep in mind, the settings must take the available system memory into account.
