Resolving EnageOne Designer distributed installation without Repository Configuration Tool on SQL Server Machine

Issue

EngageOne Designer distributed installation on a seperate SQL Server Machine

The customer wants to install EngageOne Designer in a distributed installation. See sample in release notes on page 25. (Application Server and a SQL Server).
The SQL Server is supported by a different team than the EngageOne Designer Application Server. The release notes says, that the Repository Configuration Tool must be installed also on the SQL Server.
But the SQL Server team not allowed to install EngageOne Designer Software on this big SQL Server with many different DBs.

Is there a possibility to clear this prerequisite on the SQL Server?

Another problem is in upgrading EngageOne Designer. The upgrade from the repository configuration tool must also be on SQL Server. Is this right?

Below are the errors after the installation from EngageOne Designer on the application server with repository configuration tool and the DB on SQL Server (without repository configuration tool).

Is is possible to install only the DB on SQL Server?

Cause

The distributed install requires the RCT be installed on the SQL server machine. There is no supported way around this.

There was a customer customization in the past which managed to work around this with 5.4, but it was fairly elaborate, and *not* supported. The document describing this is attached, but PB advises strongly against going that route.

PB will not support any problems arising from that.

The simple answer is: The customer either needs to have a dedicated SQL Server box for There was a customer customization in the past which managed to work around this with 5.4, but it was fairly elaborate, and *not* supported. The document describing this is attached, but PB advises strongly against going that route.

or they have to install the RCT on the SQL Server box.

If the customization is done, and the customer needs to add additional repositories, a how-to for that can be found here: Manually Add A Repository to the Repository List
