Withdrawing your postage funds on your cancelled DM50 - DM60

Products affected: DM50™, DM55™ (K721), DM60™ (K722)

Withdrawing your postage funds allows any unused credit on your franking machine to be re-credited back to you.

If you are cancelling your contract, you must have confirmation of your contract termination before withdrawing funds and returning any equipment.

Important: It is mandatory for your franking machine to be returned to Pitney Bowes after use.

The entire process should take approximately ten minutes to complete.

Print a record of postage

To obtain a record of the amount of postage in your franking machine, print the Funds report.

  1. Press Options.
  2. Use the Review keys to scroll to Select a report and press Enter/Yes.
  3. Use the Review keys to scroll to Print Funds report and press Enter/Yes.
  4. When prompted, insert an envelope or tape sheet into your franking machine.
  5. The report is printed. Press No to return to the Home screen.

Print an account report

If you require a record of the accounting values from your franking machine, print the Account report.

  1. Press Options.
  2. Use the Review keys to scroll to Select a report and press Enter/Yes.
  3. Use the Review keys to scroll to Print Account report and press Enter/Yes.
  4. To print a report for an individual account, use the Review keys to scroll to Print Single Account report and press Enter/Yes.
  5. To print a report giving all accounts values use the Review keys to scroll to Print Multiple Account report and press Enter/Yes.
  6. When prompted, insert an envelope or tape sheet into your franking machine.
  7. The report is printed. Press No to return to the Home screen.

Withdraw the remaining funds from your franking machine

Important: This step will deactivate your franking machine. 

Keep your franking machine connected as you normally would for a postage refill.

  1. Press Options.
  2. Use the Review keys to scroll to Change Setup and press Enter/Yes.
  3. Use the Review keys to scroll to Remove funds from meter and press Enter/Yes.
  4. Your franking machine will connect to Pitney Bowes. This may take a few minutes.
  5. Your franking machine displays xxxxx.xx transferred to postage by phone.
  6. Press Enter/Yes. Your franking machine displays Your meter was taken out of service.
  7. If you see a different message on the display, please attempt steps 1 - 6 once more. If the problem reoccurs the withdrawal process may have been unsuccessful. There is no cause for concern as any remaining funds will be credited upon receipt of your franking machine at our returns centre. Please proceed to the next step.

Disconnect cables

  1. Remove the power lead from the rear of your franking machine.
  2. Remove the phone or USB cable.
  3. Remove the Scale.
