How to ensure USPS security compliance for SendSuite Live and SendSuite Xpress

Products affected: SendSuite® Live, SendSuite® Xpress
Due to audit findings regarding data transmission security, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced the need to move from using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), which is not secure, to Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) or Parcel Data Exchange (PDX), which are secure. The USPS is eliminating FTP as an acceptable transmission method for uploading Shipping Services Files (SSF) and Electronic Mail Manifesting File (EMM), and downloading Bulk Proof of Delivery (BPOD), Delivery Extract (DEXTRO) and Error Warning Report (ERR) files.

If you are currently using FTP as your transmission method in SendSuite Live or SendSuite Xpress, you must migrate to either PDX or SFTP by August 31, 2017 in order to remain in compliance with USPS requirements. Pitney Bowes will perform this update to your system. We will be providing additional information in the coming weeks about this migration and will follow up with a phone call.
