Product Feature: Installation / Upgrade
Operating System: Windows
Configuration: Client/Server or Distributed installation.
Products Affected: Designer Series 6.
To install a client on a different domain than the Doc1 Designer application server, you may have to involve your IT department to get properly authenticated across domains.

1) From the Designer client computer, open the Windows Command Prompt to try pinging the IP address of the Designer application server (e.g. ping . If you successfully get a "reply" message, continue to step #2. Otherwise, contact your IT department to resolve this.
2) All clients must have full permissions to the File Store share location. Make sure your LDAP can authenticate you on both domains. If successful, continue to step #3. Otherwise, contact your IT department to resolve this.
3) If there is a firewall between the client and server, port 37719 needs to be open.
4) On the client side, log off the Designer, edit the processor.dll.config file (a search can be done where the client is installed, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\PBBI CCM\DOC1\Designer\processor.dll.config) and change all local IP addresses to point to the IP address of the server.   Make sure to backup the original processor.dll.config file before making any changes.  Save your changes.

Log into the Designer client.  The Designer client should now be able to communicate with the Designer application server.
