Installing new versions, and updates/patches to MailStream Plus

MailStream Plus™, all versions, all platforms
Refer to the MailStream Plus™ Install Guide for the version of software you are installing or updating.

Full Releases of the software
The Installation Guide contains steps for a new installation or upgrading to a newer version of the software, normally referred to as 'installing the software'. In the installation Guide, locate the section in the Guide that pertains to your Operating System (IBMi, UNIX/Linux, Windows, z/OS.)  At the beginning of the section it starts with information and instructions for installing the software.

Product Updates (also referred to as Patches)
The Installation Guide also contains separate instructions for installing patches. Patches are fixes that are released if needed, and are applied to an existing software installation.  They replace some of the program modules, but are *not* a full installation.  They have reference codes beginning with C, O, or S that indicate the update, such as S01, C02, etc.
Patches are installed using different instructions than the instructions for installing full releases.  In the installation Guide, first locate the section in the Guide that pertains to your Operating System (IBMi, UNIX/Linux, Windows, z/OS) and within that main section there will be a sub-section with a name like "Installing a Product Update" or "Installing Product Updates"
There is generally an Update installation program provided along with the Update, which can be reviewed to see what the update installation program does and any  options.
