Purging in EngageOne Vault

The Vault load process provides an automated method of removing jobs older than a specified retention period. When enabled, a daily process scans the list of loaded jobs for those that need to be removed. Eligible jobs are removed from the index and permanently deleted. The retention period in months can be set globally or on a per profile basis. The profile setting takes precedence if present. It is strongly recommended to use profile retention period settings rather than global settings to avoid new profiles unintentionally having purge enabled.

Configuring purge To configure automated purging of jobs:
• Define a retention period policy for each document type (profile) to be purged.
• Enable the purge component in e2loaderd.ini. Optionally set a time window purge should be limited to. e2loaderd.ini:

[purge1]
enable=1 (enables the purge operation  - if this is set to 0, the purge process is disabled);
begin=23:00:00 (the purge process should only run between 11 pm and 5 am daily)
end=05:00:00 ; no global retention period is set so profiles do not purge by default • Set the
Months=nn (this value is a global level, and will apply this to all profiles if no specific "PurgeMonths=nn" value is set in individual profile, the value specified here is the number of moths that it will retain, anything older than this will be purged when the process starts)
PurgeMonths= nn (setting to the number of months to retain in each profile being purged - if this is not set the value in the Months= parameter will be deployed, the value specified here is the number of moths that it will retain, anything older than this will be purged when the process starts)

All parameters are fully described in the 'ADM Vault purging/document expiry' section in the 'Vault Customization Guide' shipped as a part of installer
